You may be wondering what this is...well it all started with a desire to do something different with the music industry, whilst supporting the DJ culture in the UK.

At first, a group of us built an internet radio, a collaborative playlist to stick on at work whilst trying to keep your hands on the keyboard. Then one of us got chatting to a guy at a festival in Brixton and got offered an old HSBC bank to host the Mixmotel in....for 2 whole months. It was too good to turn down.

It could land flat on its face, could be the start of something that picks up momentum. Come down and give us your feedback! We've got a roster of exciting DJs buzzing to play for you.

Check in, check out, leave your worries at the door. See you down sometime, come say hi.

Shalom meanwhile has remained at the epicentre of Newcastle’s underground music scene for the past few years, slowly gaining notoriety for his unique ‘muscular groover’ sound. He has played sets at the biggest nights in the city – LOOP, APE-X and Motion.

This is a high energy set, it's going to (Blackpool) rock your world....ahoi!!!

#house #techno #disco #motown #hip hop

A legend of the Leeds music scene, Busby has graced Beaver Works, Mint Cloud, 93 Feet East and many many house parties, often reducing excited punters to remove their tops.

Raised in Kidderminster, just outside Birmingham, he learnt very quickly in life you needed to play all sub-genres of underground House, Techno, Disco, Motown, and Hip Hop to even be considered slightly cool.

Loves a classic, teasing crowds with upbeat party starters whilst varying between down tempo grooves. The guy has style.

You can usually find Vivi playing techno in disused spaces with Rx London and on the decks at XOYO. Originating from Lancaster, her favourite DJ moment to date was an idyllic sunrise set on a remote Welsh hillside.

She plays techno and house in the broadest sense and used to co-run Hologram in the West Midlands, a night of ethereal and melodic techno sounds in with music to keep your feet thinking and your mind dancing.

Both members of the infamous collective ‘Rhythm Sister’, a group that helps women get into production and dj’ing, it’s fair to say they have both always had a love affair with squirrelling away old house and disco tunes.

Carpe DM is fairly new to the game, but decided to start playing records out as a means of sharing the library she’s curated over the years.

Liv Ayers, on the other hand, is a very practiced DJ, playing a couple of times a week at a range of events.

After finding out that our scheduled Hip-Hop DJ couldn't make it down an hour before the event was about to start, the motel staff had to think on their feet. Luckily one of us had their laptop with them (primarily for recording) and this soothing disco-fuelled hour was enough to warm up the party.
